Pink parking spots for Saudi women

PINK women-only parking spaces have been set up across Saudi Arabia as the country prepares to lift its ban on female drivers.

Thousands of women will take the wheel tomorrow as the conservative kingdom tears up its decades-long rule.

Photos posted online showed ladies-only parking spaces around the country. One Twitter user posted a pink sign reading ‘ladies parking only’ and

pink bollards marking where only women could park. On Thursday, Saudi Arabia launched a campaign advising women on driving techniques and safety, called ‘place your trust in God and drive’. The end of the ban will allow many more women to join the workforce – a key goal for the modernising Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
