Battered and bloodied, teen stabbed in the head
A TEENAGER was knifed in the head and beaten unconscious by a gang of 30 attackers on his way home from a funfair.
Dylan Swan, 16, said he was kicked, punched and stabbed with a butterfly knife after attending the event in Newcastle on Friday evening.
He managed to escape only when a passing nurse chased away his attackers and gave him first aid. He was left terrified and covered in blood.
He said: ‘About 30 people surrounded me. They started jumping on me – they were jumping on my head and body. One of them took out a butterfly knife and stabbed me near my head. It lasted for about ten to 15 minutes but a nurse came and helped me.’
He told the Newcastle Chronicle: ‘I lost consciousness. The next thing I remember was waking up in a bed in hospital.’ He is recovering at home after being treated at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said: ‘Police have arrested one male on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He is currently in police custody.’
