Spreading smiles, Harry’s back in Africa

- Mail Foreign Service

ALWAYS happy to play the joker, Prince Harry poses with a laughing young girl on a trip to southern Africa this weekend.

The Duke of Sussex, 33, made an emotional return to Lesotho to open a community hall at the Phelisanong Children’s Centre in Pitseng, which was donated by his charity Sentebale.

The Duchess of Sussex did not accompany him for the brief trip to the country. Kensington Palace confirmed that Harry is on a ‘private visit’ to Lesotho.

Pictures posted on social media by the children’s centre show a relaxed Harry meeting local youngsters. During the visit, he marked the official opening of the hall by unveiling a plaque.

Harry has a close connection to Lesotho, visiting the country a number of times since his first trip there in 2004. He founded Sentebale in 2006 to help improve the prospects of children affected by HIV and Aids in Africa.

He famously developed a close bond with four-year-old Mutsu Potsane while volunteering in Lesotho in 2004. He was reunited with Mutsu, now 18 and a representative of Sentebale, in 2016, and invited him to the royal wedding last month.
