Mugged – three miles out to sea

A FISHERMAN has been mugged at knifepoint – three miles out at sea.

He was fishing in the channel off Slapton Sands, Devon, yesterday when two men in an inflatable boat approached his vessel. They threatened him with a knife, cut his nets and stole his fish.

A police spokesman said: ‘At about 5.30am a local fisherman was threatened with a knife three miles out to sea.

‘Please don’t buy any fish from unreputable sources.’
