The online store

-

I LIVE in a small Midlands town that is rapidly declining. If Debenhams closes its store, we might as well pull down the shutters on the High Street.

Yes, many of our shops may have gone because more people are shopping online. But how many have to return the clothes they order because they don’t fit, are not good enough quality or are the wrong fabric or colour?

Why doesn’t Debenhams move into a smaller shop, stocking one of each size of every item of its clothing, with changing rooms and computers providing fast internet access so shoppers can then make orders online?

This innovative approach would mean the store could offer its goods in a one- stop online and in-store shop. ANN HUMPHReY, Nuneaton, Warks.
