Plastic doesn’t pay

I WORK in a supermarket and am passionate about cutting down on plastic usage. I was shocked when I realised I had sold 143 of the 5p plastic bags in just one shift.

People buy half-a-dozen plastic bags at a time and the 5p charge does not discourage them. The charge should be raised to 50p to make people think twice.
