A NEW ONE FOR THE TROPHY CABINET, LEWIS!

-

LEWIS HAMILTON complained about the state of Formula One trophies in 2015, saying: ‘Now they are just terrible, man. They are so bad.’ But the Mercedes man looked as pleased as punch after his 65th career win and first in France. Hamilton threw the memento — a gorilla painted in the colours of the Tricolore clutching a tyre — into the air before cradling it on the podium. The sculpture is by French artist Richard Orlinski, designer of several statues at the Circuit Paul Ricard.
