Jamie and Jools’ toe curling love letters
AS a chef, you’d think that Jamie Oliver would know when things are getting a bit too gooey.
But he veered into syrupy sweet territory at the weekend... though it was on Instagram rather than in a dish.
In a gushing tribute to his wife, Jools, on their 18th wedding anniversary, he thanked her for being his ‘soul mate’ and ‘fantastic mother to our five precious children’, adding: ‘I LOVE YOU SO MUCH’.
The chef, 43, also shared a picture of the couple on their wedding day to his 6.4million followers.
In response, his wife, also 43, shared a picture of Oliver, who she said ‘still makes my heart skip a beat’.
Her post on Sunday also declared that ‘you would do anything for us and most of all you make me feel safe’.
The couple married at All Saints Church in Rickling Green, Essex, in June 2000 when they were both 25.
Nearly two decades on, they have five children – Poppy Honey, 16, Daisy Boo, 15, Petal Blossom, nine, Buddy Bear, seven, and River Rocket, one – and Oliver’s food empire is worth around £240million.
However, so far this year there hasn’t been a lot for them to celebrate. In January, it was announced that 12 Jamie’s Italian restaurants would be closing, affecting at least 200 jobs. Court documents revealed that the restaurant chain had debts of £71.5million.
And in February, Oliver’s upmarket steak restaurant, Barbecoa, in London’s Piccadilly, went into administration.
