Lost accounts

ONE million people under the age of 16 could have up to £1,000 saved in a forgotten Child Trust Fund (CTF). Around six million children born in the UK between September 1, 2002, and January 2, 2011, were given a CTF.

However, a million accounts are believed to be lost, with children unaware that they have savings in their name. You can track down a missing account at gov.uk/child-trust-funds
