DELPH WAS WAY TOO SLOW TO STOP BELGIUM’S WINNER

- CHRIS SUTTON

FABIAN DELPH was at fa fault for Belgium’s goal. H He should have a anticipated the danger much quicker and he had plenty of time to get across to block the line of Adnan Januzaj’s shot. Danny Rose could have done better, too, but he needed help from Delph that did not come. T The Manchester City m midfielder turned his back when w Januzaj did eventu eventually shoot but, given his poor positioning, there was little that he could have done to block it anyway. Januzaj should not have been given the time and space to get his shot away but, once he did, I don’t think there was much goalkeeper Jordan Pickford could have done. Januzaj struck the ball with such pace and accuracy, it was out of his reach.
