JANUZAJ COMPLETES HIS LONG ROAD BACK

-

BELGIUM’S Adnan Januzaj had to play in three countries to rebuild his career. He made his Manchester United debut aged 18 in 2013 and the FA asked him to play for England rather than Belgium — where he was born — or Kosovo, his parents’ homeland. After flourishing under David Moyes, he faded when Louis van Gaal took over and was loaned to Borussia Dortmund and then Sunderland, where he scored once in 28 games. Moving to Real Sociedad last season got him going again — he played 28 La Liga games. He would have enjoyed beating Jordan Pickford to score — they were team-mates in Sunderland’s 2016-17 relegation season.
