Now all I need are some ornamental flamingos
BECKA CUTLER, 32, is a buyer and furniture designer. She lives in London. She says: i’ve had lots of bell tents, but this Luna version from
boutiquecamping.com is my favourite.
it’s five metres in diameter and so spacious inside i can stand up and walk around.
And it’s a doddle to put up, which means i can take it to any festival in the UK or abroad, as well as friends’ festival-style weddings.
i simply lay the tent out on the ground and attach the guy ropes, then once the central pole’s in position it’s easy to put the ropes and pegs into place.
Ten minutes is all it takes, but i’ll happily spend a few hours accessorising. My house is full of the accessories i’ve picked up. i love to plan different themes depending on the occasion and the season.
i once pitched my previous bell tent on the beach in ibiza with friends, having taken it on the plane as extra baggage. On the beach, i decorated it with a Scandinavian theme, with faux Reindeer hides, plus furry cushions and throws.
With this incredible heatwave, i couldn’t resist buying a load of new accessories with a tropical feel, including potted palm trees, cool rugs and botanical printed cushions. i’ve also got my eye on some ornamental flamingos.
Overnight, i want a great night’s sleep and a little luxury! So, i basically build a bedroom in my bell tent with a blow-up double bed, cosy pillows and throws, low tables to put lanterns on and fairy lights, too.
i love to invite my girlfriends to the tent when it’s pitched in my garden, and we’ll just kick back with some girly cocktails and nibbles or a barbecue.
