CATERPILLAR CONTROL

-

IF YOU grow small numbers of brassicas, control caterpillars by hand.

Check the leaves and remove eggs or larvae. Cabbage white butterfly eggs resemble tiny yellowish ‘ rafts’, usually found on the leaf undersides. They’re easy to crush with your thumb. Newly hatched caterpillars stick together and are also easy to pick off. But older caterpillars can be found all over the plants. These are voracious eaters and if not dealt with, could ruin your brassicas. for larger crops, use horticultural fleece or butterfly-proof netting.
