Is this really the best place for a super-yacht to make a U-turn?
INCONSPICUOUS it certainly isn’t. A British billionaire’s super-yacht turned heads on and off the water as it struggled to U-turn on the Thames yesterday.
The multi-million-pound Aviva, which belongs to Tottenham Hotspur owner Joe Lewis, dwarfed other boats and buildings alongside the river as it attempted the manoeuvre in central London.
Mr Lewis, who is the 12th richest person in the country, is said to have a walk-in wardrobe on board as big as your average holiday home.
The Spurs owner has two children and lives in the Bahamas.
He accumulated the bulk of his wealth after betting against the pound during the 1992 ‘Black Wednesday’ crash.
