BERCOW THE ‘GAME SHOW HOST’

Former Black rod David Leakey is leading the charge against Commons Speaker John Bercow for breaking his promise to quit after nine years.

Leakey, who has previously attacked Bercow’s ‘ bullying’ behaviour’, spoke on radio 4’s The Week In Westminster about the Speaker having lowered the tone of the Commons.

He said: ‘His narcissistic realityTV-game- show-host approach may have attracted some people who wouldn’t normally watch Parliament on TV.’
