BORN: Walthamstow, North-East London, July 28, 1993.
FAMILY: His late maternal grandfather, Michael John Kane, was a talented footballer from Connemara. Encouragement came from his parents, Pat, 54, and Kim, 51.
EDUCATION: Chingford Foundation School.
EARLY DAYS: Kane first played for local club Ridgeway Rovers before joining Arsenal’s youth academy when he was eight years old, but was released after one season. He joined Tottenham as a youth player at the age of 11 and, although he did not stand out, impressed observers with his commitment. In 2009, on his 16th birthday, he signed a scholarship contract with Tottenham, playing 22 times for the club’s under-18s and scoring 18 goals. He signed his first professional contract with the club in July 2010. HEIGHT: 6ft 2in. WAGES: £200,000 a week plus endorsements.
