You’re looking ab fab as usual, Rafa

-

REVEALING his toned torso has become something of a Wimbledon tradition for Rafael Nadal.

But the World Number One looked a little bashful when the Centre Court crowd cheered more loudly for his chest than when he reached match point.

The Spaniard gave the crowd a double peek at his physique, changing his soaked shirt after the second set and then again at the end of his straight-sets march to the third round yesterday.

He is known for the his routines but yesterday lost track of time and was given a time violation for taking too long to change his clothes.

Later Nadal, 32, discovered he had been given another penalty for taking too long in the warmup and could be fined a total of £15,000. He was furious and questioned why there was no visible countdown timer on court.

He said: ‘I don’t see that countdown. It’s more difficult for me to understand what’s going on.

‘In Australia and Roland Garros we have the watch…we can manage to be under control with the watch. Here we can’t.’

Players are given 60 seconds to prepare after sitting down following the warm-up, but Nadal remained seated for an extra ten seconds.

His tardiness is a surprise because the multi-millionaire has been wearing a Richard Mille watch at SW19.

The red and yellow timepiece is in homage to his homeland of Spain and costs £550,492 and weighs just 20 grams.
