PROUD WILLIAM TWEETS SUPPORT

-

MINUTES after England reached the semi-final, Prince William tweeted his reaction.

‘ Football’s Coming Home’ was posted on the Kensington Palace Twitter page, signed simply: ‘W.’

Now he has contacted the team directly – sending them a private message of encouragement before tonight’s match.

Athough President of the FA, the Duke of Cambridge can’t go to the tournament because VIPs are boycotting it following Russia’s novichok attack.

But William has been following England’s progress from afar. After their quarter-final win over Sweden, a message on Kensington Palace’s Twitter feed read: ‘You wanted to make history @England and you are doing just that. This has been an incredible #WorldCup run and we’ve enjoyed every minute. You deserve this moment – Football’s Coming Home! W.’

After the victory over Colombia, a message read: ‘I couldn’t be prouder of England – a victory in a penalty shoot-out! You have well and truly earned your place in the final eight and you should know the whole country is right behind you! W.’
