AIRBNB hosts could lose a valuable tax break if they do not live in the property they let out. Currently, the Rent a Room scheme allows homeowners to earn up to £7,500 by letting out rooms in their home tax-free. But Treasury ministers have proposed a residency test that could come into force next spring.
