Workers demand rises
WORKERS are taking advantage of skills shortages to demand a pay rise, a headhunter has said.
Robert Walters said that it is seeing salary growth of around 3pc or 4pc and suggests pay could be picking up after a decade of near-stagnation since the financial crisis.
The recruiter said that as professions become more specialised, workers with specific skills are able to demand better pay because there are fewer competing to get the job.
The business unveiled profits of £100m for the three months to June 30, up 16pc on a year earlier. UK profits were up 12pc at £27.4m.
