IN A desperate effort to play down his privileged background while he was prime minister, David Cameron used to turn up in a lounge suit to weddings where all the other male guests were formally attired in tails.

Now he’s no longer an MP, Cameron has no reason to hide his upperclass connections.

I hear Cameron and his wife Samantha were among the 400 guests at the Duke of Beaufort’s wedding ball at Badminton House last Saturday. ‘I wore a white dinner jacket, a bow tie and patent leather shoes,’ reports fellow guest Taki Theodoracopulos.

‘A very nice David Cameron told me that I was properly dressed.’
