THE WINNERS MAKE IT ALL

THE cash register hasn’t stopped ringing since the Mamma Mia! stage show premiered at the Prince Edward Theatre in London on April 6, 1999.

The new movie is expected to smash the 2008 film’s box office takings of £466 million (the first one cost £28 million to make). On its release, Mamma Mia! became the highest-grossing musical film in the world.

Not bad for a film that got decidely lukewarm reviews.
