Er, do you think it will pass its MOT?
WHEN police pull over a car in an unroadworthy condition, it is normally because there is a problem with the lights, tyres or perhaps the seat belts.
But officers who stopped this vehicle could not believe their eyes. There was no driver’s seat – and no steering wheel either. Instead the driver had been perching on a crumpled plastic bucket while he used a pair of adjustable pliers to steer the badly damaged car, believed – once – to have been a Peugeot 206. It also had a flat tyre and was missing a few wheel nuts, a wing, grille and front number plate.
Police who stopped the driver in King’s Lynn, Norfolk tweeted: ‘The team were speechless when they realised the “bucket seat” was not the usual one they see and even more shocked to see the driver was steering with a pair of mole grips. Driver has been reported for too many offences to mention & vehicle has been seized.’
