My honey, yogurt and turmeric beauty regime, by Anita of Countryfile

- By Susie Coen TV and Radio Reporter

WITH her smooth skin and glowing complexion, you would think that she regularly splashes out on expensive facials.

But Anita Rani has revealed her secret to looking so young at 40 can be found on the supermarket shelves.

The Countryfile presenter makes her own face masks out of yogurt, turmeric and honey. She explained: ‘I’m really into beauty, but my mum is really into natural beauty. I make homemade face packs with yogurt and loads of stuff – turmeric, but only a tiny bit as you don’t want to go too yellow.

‘Honey’s really good for the skin, cucumber for the eyes.’

Speaking to the Daily Mail at the launch of a season of BBC programmes called The Big British Asian Summer, she added: ‘My mum is super p g girly y and she’ll always phone me and say have you put a facepack on, you’ve got a photoshoot tomorrow.’

But when she does buy beauty products from the shops, Miss Rani prefers low-budget creams to costly lotions and potions.

‘I end up using the really cheap stuff – a lot of Nivea,’ she said.

Miss Rani is not the only star who cooks up her own beauty treatments. Miranda Kerr previously revealed she grates chilled cucumber and applies it on her face as a mask.

The model, 35, told website Beauticate: ‘You have to make sure the cucumbers are very cold and then grate them to make the mask. I also use cold cucumbers on my eyes if I wake up and my eyes are puffy. It really works for me.’

Pop singer Katy Perry is thought to concoct her own face masks from egg whites and almond oil to get rid of blackheads and cleanse the skin.

And Mary Berry, 83, previously revealed that she has no beauty routine except for ‘slathering’ on E45 moisturiser.
