MY 10 TRAVEL BUTLER PICKS

-

IN SOUTH Australia, there are so many must-see sights. Discover Fleurieu Peninsula’s spectacular beaches, the fantastic food and wine of the McLaren Vale and Barossa Valley, cuddly (and not so cuddly) wildlife at Kangaroo Island and the outback of the Flinders Ranges.

THERE is so much to see in South Australia, a minimum of four nights would allow you to see some of the most beloved sights.

A SPORTING event at the iconic Adelaide Oval is a must. It’s one of the best grounds in the world. See an Aussie Rules game from March to September (‘Go the Crows!!’), then October to February is cricket season.

THE beaches south of Sydney along the New South Wales coastline are spectacular and you often find you have the entire place to yourself. Hyams Beach in Jervis Bay is my favourite, with white-sand beaches and crystal-clear waters.

TRY FruChocs, a sweet that consists of dried apricot balls dipped in milk chocolate – yum!

RAWNSLEY Park Station in the Flinders Ranges is one of the most spectacular places I’ve ever been lucky enough to visit, teeming with wildlife everywhere you look, and some of the most stunning landscapes you’ll ever come across, I’d recommend two nights here to see everything.

TAKE a cruise on Sydney Harbour; there is a spot where you can take a selfie with the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House in the background.

IF YOU forget any travel essentials (passport excluded!), don’t worry – Australia has everything you could ever need.

GO SURFING! Take a surf class on Bondi Beach or Byron Bay.

FUN FACT: the bronze medals for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games were made from recycled Australian coins that were removed from circulation.
