Follow-up

Memories came flooding back after reading vic Beaumont’s account of sunbathing on a rooftop, which led to a well-meaning member of the public alerting the emergency services as they mistakenly thought he was going to commit suicide (Peterborough). I was working in Central london many years ago as a police officer. tragically, a person had fallen to their death from a top-floor window. A colleague thought he would assist the investigation by obtaining a mannequin to see how easy it might have been to lean out of the window and fall out. You’ve guessed it; someone passing by happened to look up and were horrified to see what they thought was a person being pushed out of a window. Enter lots of police, resulting in one very embarrassed police officer!
