Out of the mouths of babes

I tried to explain to my three-year-old great-grandson that I couldn’t run about after him, as my legs were old and worn out. ‘A bit like your toys when they don’t work any more,’ I said. He looked a bit puzzled, then ran to a cupboard and returned with a pack of long-life batteries, which he pressed into my hand. ‘Put these in, Grandma, and your legs will work then,’ he said. oh, if only they would! What a boon it would be for me and the NHs.
