SIR ALEX FERGUSON has made an emotional vow to return to Old Trafford this season after battling back from the brain haemorrhage that threatened his life. Speaking publicly for the first time since he had emergency surgery in May, the 76-year-old former Manchester United manager praised hospital staff and well-wishers, saying: ‘Believe me, without those people who gave me such great care, I would not be sitting here today.
