Pizza wars at Domino’s
PIZZA firm Domino’s is facing a revolt from its store owners after piling pressure on them to open up in unprofitable locations.
Chief executive David Wild has reportedly enraged the franchisees who run its takeaway shops with his uncompromising ‘hard man’ behaviour.
Domino’s is understood to have demanded they open more stores close to existing ones.
This boosts the fees the franchise makes from shop owners, but puts stores in competition with each other and damages their individual sales.
Store owners have now formed their own association to push for a greater share of profits.
