Be a good sport
THE joy of watching sport on the BBC is no interruption by advertisements.
On Sunday, it broadcast 12 continuous hours of the European Championships, making BBC2 a dedicated sports channel. Viewers complain about Wimbledon switching channels between BBC 1 and BBC 2 in highprofile games. During the Commonwealth games and Winter Olympics, critical minutes were lost in this way.
Sadly, the BBC’s new-found wise approach to sports broadcasting lasted just one day. On Tuesday, it switched channels three times, once in the middle of an exciting women’s cycle race.
