Horror movie stars
HORROR hit A Quiet Place has helped boost profits at media conglomerate Viacom.
The low-budget movie about a family trying to survive alien invasion has made £250m despite it costing just £15m to make. It was produced by Viacom’s Paramount Pictures.
Profits at Viacom, which also owns Nickelodeon, MTV, and the UK’s Channel 5, rose 1pc to £369m despite a 4pc revenue fall.
Paramount also did well with comedy movie Book Club, starring Diane Keaton and Jane Fonda, making £52m.
Viacom boss Bob Bakish claimed: ‘ Paramount is revitalised.’
