GOOD EVANS, POSH HIT 4!

- TOM FARMERY

HERO OF THE WEEK

STEVE EVANS (Peterborough boss): It has been a rebuilding job for Evans since key players left the club in the summer. Jack Marriott, who scored 27 league goals last season, went to Derby. But Evans has found a way to be competitive. Back-to-back wins, including a 4-1 pasting of Rochdale at the weekend, has Posh in third place.

ZERO OF THE WEEK

KARL ROBINSON (Oxford manager): Back-to-back defeats was not the plan for Oxford. Robinson was expected to get Oxford firing early and in a position high up the table. They are bottom after conceding six goals without scoring. A 2-0 home defeat by Joey Barton’s Fleetwood being the latest disappointment. Not a huge concern just yet but things need to change.

GOAL OF THE WEEK

LUKE O’NEILL (for Gillingham v

Burton): The extra dead ball work O’Neill (above) does after training bore fruit on Saturday. His beautifully struck free-kick from just outside the Burton area swerved and dipped on its way into the back of the net. Burton goalkeeper Stephen Bywater was rooted to the spot.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

GRANT McCANN: The Doncaster manager thinks his side are the Leeds of League One after their high-pressing tactics produced a 3-0 win over Wycombe. ‘They’re fit, they’re strong and they just don’t stop running,’ he said.

STAT OF THE WEEK

FIFTEEN: Barnsley super sub Victor Adeboyejo (above) is scoring at a rate of once every 15 minutes. He has come off the bench in their last two matches, playing a total of 30 minutes and scoring twice. His latest effort was the clincher in a 2-0 win at Bradford and Barnsley are top of the table.
