Taste The Difference Conegliano Prosecco 1.5l, £16.50 (normally £21), Sainsbury’s A BRILLIANT-VALUE super-size bottle of Prosecco made with grapes from the Conegliano vineyards. It’s soft and frothy with pear fruits and a citrus tang. Perfect for a thirsty crowd.
WHITE WINE
Tesco Finest Saint Mont, £6 THIS is the perfect fridge-door white. Made from a cocktail of grapes, including Arrufiac, Gros Manseng and Petit Courbu from South-West France, it’s full of crisp apple with a streak of grapefruit. Refreshing.
FOOD PAIRING: Fish kebabs.
RED WINE
Waitrose Carmenere Reserva, £7.49 PART of the Blueprint range made exclusively for Waitrose from Carmenere grapes grown in Chile’s Rapel Valley. It has a chocolatey feel to it with some spice and a touch of smokiness. Marvellously mellow.
FOOD PAIRING: Sticky ribs.
ROSÉ WINE
Irresistible Pic Saint Loup Rosé 2017, £7.49, Co-op TUCKED away in the northern corner of the Languedoc is the Pic Saint Loup region, making some delicious reds and rosés. This one’s made mostly from the Grenache grape. Pink and perky with fresh redcurrant fruit flavours and a squeeze of lemon. Sunny climes in a sip.
FOOD PAIRING: Cashew nuts.
