Terror suspect murder charge
Westminster terror suspect salih Khater has been charged with attempted murder.
the 29-year- old, pictured, is accused of trying to kill members of the public and police officers by driving a car through crowds outside the Houses of Parliament on tuesday. Khater, from Birmingham, will appear Westminster magistrates’ Court today to face two counts of attempted murder.
the sudanese-born suspect, who is a British citizen, is said to have driven his vehicle into pedestrians and cyclists before deliberately swerving towards police officers.
He then allegedly crashed into barriers outside the Palace of Westminster and was arrested.
the metropolitan Police, which charged Khater on saturday, said prosecutors will treat the case as terrorism because of the method of the alleged attack, the targets selected and the high-profile location. three people were treated for non-life threatening injuries after the incident.
