A big thank-you to our wonderful, caring NHS

-

WHEN our daughter was taken ill with sepsis, Northwick Park hospital in NorthWest London told us she was unlikely to survive the night. Thanks to five months of care from doctors, nurses and physios, she has been able to return to her own home. Marks & Spencer has kept her job open and she is due to go back to work. We hear a lot of bad news about the NHS not coping, but our experience was beyond wonderful.

C. and J. ROSE, Edgware, Middx. I WOULD like to thank Leeds General Infirmary for the care and attention I have received. After I went to A&E and it was discovered I had a heart condition, within a week I had a triple bypass. I am now at home recovering. So many good and dedicated people work in the marvellous NHS. No matter how many people try to point score or criticise it, we are the envy of the world.

KEVIN TaYLOR, Wakefield, W. Yorks. I RECENTLY spent 24 hours in my local NHS hospital. The medical care I received was first-class from the time I was admitted for pre-arranged minor surgery until my discharge. So it’s a great shame I have since received confirmation of appointments that had previously been cancelled and other correspondence, all in separate envelopes. If this happens to lots of patients, surely the waste of paper and postage must run into millions. I don’t think that the fault with the NHS is in the medical care, but in the red-tape bound administration.

Name and address supplied. HAVING just spent 12 days in the outstanding Royal Devon & Exeter hospital, I have to thank the nurses and staff for the most wonderful care and attention. They were there for me every minute of the day and night. I am sure I got better thanks to their dedication and kindness. The food was excellent, and when I mentioned I was missing prunes, which were not on the menu, the caterers got them in for me.

SUSaNNE DEaN, Ottery St Mary, Devon.
