THE family of a newlywed who plummeted from a Benidorm hotel are hoping CCTV of her final moments will help solve the mystery surrounding her death.

Wearing matching pink T- shirts, Kirsty Maxwell and two of her friends pad into their hotel in the early hours after enjoying a fun night out as part of a hen-do.

But a little over two hours later, Mrs Maxwell had plummeted 100ft to her death from a tenth-storey balcony.

Dramatic images have revealed new information about the 27-year-old’s final hours before she walked into a flat occu- pied by a group of British men and died moments later.

They emerged in a documentary as the bank worker’s family launched a new appeal for information, pointing to a number of witnesses they hope can finally explain her death.

Mrs Maxwell’s mother has demanded that the group of men, known as the ‘Benidorm five’, provide answers as to what exactly happened in the room, accusing them of ‘prolonging’ their agony.

Denise Curry said the ‘answers’ to what happened to her daughter lie in Benidorm and Nottingham, where the group of men are from.

She said: ‘The only thing we’ve asked for is for them to tell us what happened in that room. I would like answers from them, because Kirsty has no voice.

‘I do hope that as a result of the documentary the people who have the answers have the decency to come forward and help the family, because it’s very hard on us.’ Previously unseen police photographs show the inside of the room at the Apartamentos Payma building where the men had been partying. Empty bottles of spirits litter a table alongside cigarette ends, while an empty plastic packet containing suspected traces of cocaine is seen elsewhere.

The group of men – Joseph Graham, Ricky Gammon, Anthony Holehouse, Callum Northridge and Daniel Bailey – are being investigated by authorities in Spain.

But only one of the group, 32year-old Amazon worker Mr Graham, was arrested by police who used a report to say he had taken so much cocaine his nose was bleeding in the immediate aftermath of the incident.

The friends dispute any involvement in Mrs Maxwell’s death on April 29 last year, which they have described as a tragic accident.

The CCTV footage shows Mrs Maxwell returning to the hotel complex with two friends who were part of a 20-strong hen party at 5.35am. The time stamp on CCTV was incorrect by one hour.

Separate footage taken by a friend and obtained by a BBC documentary shows the recently married Mrs Maxwell, from West Lothian, snoring in her apartment on the ninth floor at 6.50am.

Question marks surround why she then left her room clothed but barefoot and walked upstairs to the tenth floor apartment occupied by the British men, who she did not previously know.

While all the men gave statements to the police it is unclear why she plummeted to her death, at 7.51am. Retired police detective David Swindle is assisting the family’s own investigation.

Tests he has overseen suggested the victim could not have jumped over the balcony as had previously been claimed. Mr Swindle said it was more likely she had clambered over the balcony, questioning if she was trying to climb to one of the rooms below.

In the wake of the BBC’s ‘Killed Abroad’ documentary the family has launched a further appeal for various potential witnesses.

Mrs Maxwell’s widower Adam Maxwell, whom she married in September 2016, said: ‘We made a promise as a family that we would leave no stone unturned for Kirsty.’

The Spanish court probe into the death is ongoing, though the family is unclear whether it is being treated as a potential murder.
