DID YOU STAY AT SAME HOTEL?

-

GUESTS at the £ 0-a-night budget hotel used as a base by the Russian agents were yesterday urged by England’s chief medical officer to come forward.

Dame Sally Davies said one of the ‘remaining issues of concern’ was to identify and reassure those who stayed at the City Stay Hotel in Bow, East London, in the two months after the attack.

Police kept guard outside the scruffy three-storey building throughout yesterday after confirming ‘minute’ traces of novichok had been found in one of the 20 rooms during a search in early May. Scotland Yard said the two men stayed there on March 2 and 3.

It is unclear which rooms the Russian operatives stayed in and staff said they had been told not to comment.

Inside the hotel, dated corridors lead to small rooms with grubby walls, faded carpets and plastic fold-up chairs.

Anyone who stayed at the hotel between March 4 and May 4 is asked to call police on 0800 789 32 or email salisbury2018@met.police.uk.
