‘What mum would do anything to a child?’

A GIRL of 11 was left battered and bloodied in a street attack by a woman boxer who later walked free from a court with just a £120 fine.

Kiesha Schofield suffered a fractured nose and bruises over her face and body after being repeatedly punched and kicked by Jade Binch, the mother of one of her friends, after the schoolgirls fell out over a boy.

Kiesha’s mother Tiffany Schofield, 33, yesterday released the pictures of her daughter covered in blood that were shown to the court, as she told how her child was now too scared to go out on her own.

Miss Schofield said after the assault in March 2017, she had reassured Kiesha that Binch, 28, would be jailed. But when the case was heard at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court, Binch – dubbed the ‘ Secret Assassin’ by her boxing trainer – pleaded guilty to one charge of assault by beating and was handed the fine, a six-month community order, ten days of rehabilitation activities and an order to pay court costs.

Miss Schofield, from Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, said: ‘ Kiesha had blood all over her face and was bruised on her head and body.

‘Jade fractured Kiesha’s nose, she had a bruised and bloodshot eye which took a long time to heal, and she had scratches over her body and bruises on her back and arms where she had been kicked.

‘I was livid. I wanted to do the same to Jade, but common sense kicked in. I knew I couldn’t retaliate. When Jade was given the fine and no jail sentence, I couldn’t believe it. How is that justice for attacking a minor?’

The case was held months ago but Miss Schofield has only just released the pictures. It comes as the Daily Mail is highlighting the problem of soft justice in Britain’s court system that allows violent offenders to avoid prison sentences. Assault by beating carries a maximum penalty of six months in prison and/ or a fine or community order. A video posted online appears to show Binch training in a boxing ring three years ago. In a Facebook post after the session, trainer Richard Wheldon nicknamed Binch the ‘Secret Assassin’ while she bragged that she is a ‘wolf not a sheep’. Kiesha and Binch’s daughter had been playing in a group in March 2017 when they reportedly fell out. Miss Schofield said: ‘Kiesha and Jade’s daughter were the best of friends.

‘They’d been at my house for dinner just before the attack happened. Kiesha rang me panicking, saying her friend’s mum was “coming down to get her”.

‘I just reassured her. What mum was going to do anything to a child?

‘The rest of the group started walking to the shop and Jade then pulled up and got out of the car and assaulted Kiesha.’ Bloodied: Kiesha Schofield, left. Above, boxer Jade Binch

The cleaning supervisor says her confident and happy daughter, now 13, has become an introvert as a result of the assault that needed hospital treatment, adding: ‘ Kiesha doesn’t go out any more. She is seeing a counsellor and still has flashbacks of that awful night.

‘She now has a barrier up which she will not lower, and she doesn’t understand how someone could do what this evil person did and get away with it.’

Boxing coach Mr Wheldon, who runs an amateur boxing gym in Skegby, near Mansfield, said Binch had visited his premises only a handful of times and was not a member. He added: ‘I think she should have been jailed for what she did to this poor girl.

‘Ironically, I nicknamed her the Secret Assassin because she was so quiet out of the ring.’
