Mylee’s killer father jailed

THE mother of an eight-year- old girl stabbed to death by her father has told of her trauma as he was ordered to serve a minimum of 27 years behind bars.

Tracey Taundry, 34, watched in horror as her ‘despicable’ ex-lover William Billingham (pictured right) dragged their daughter Mylee (pictured left) into his bungalow by her coat hood, before stabbing the helpless child to death in the kitchen.

In a statement read out at Birmingham Crown Court yesterday, she said: ‘I wasn’t able to go with her in the ambulance. I wasn’t able to hold her hand at the hospital. I was helpless outside – unable to hold her hand or to comfort her.’

Billingham, from Brownhills, West Midlands, stabbed Mylee in January in a jealous rage after bisexual Miss Taundry began a relationship with a woman.

The defendant, 55, whose brother is TV’s SAS Who Dares Wins star Mark Billingham, was found guilty on Monday of murder and making threats to kill.

Judge Paul Farrer QC told him: ‘ This was the brutal and cowardly killing of a defenceless and much-loved child who had her whole life ahead of her.’
