MICHAEL JOLLEY (Grimsby manager): From zero to hero. What a difference a week and two wins make. Jolley was feeling the pressure after a 2- 1 home defeat by morecambe left Grimsby Town without a victory since the second week of the season. But three points at Carlisle United on Tuesday and an emphatic 2-0 win over Port Vale on Saturday has lifted the mariners clear of the relegation zone and left them in much more positive spirits. A switch in formation seems to have done the trick — Jolley (left) realising that he may have got things a little wrong tactically in the early part of the season.

MARK YATES (Macclesfield boss): As other teams start to make a move away from the relegation zone, macclesfield continue to show they are going nowhere. They are now the only side in the eFL not to have won a game this season. So 12 played, eight lost and four drawn. notts County were the 1- 0 victors at moss Rose on Saturday. macclesfield appear certain to drop back down into the national League less than a year after winning promotion.

NICKY MAYNARD (BURY v Mansfield): Two goals by maynard helped Bury to a 2-2 draw against mansfield Town, but his first was the best of them. nicky Adams headed the ball towards the former Aberdeen striker who adjusted his body in the air to score with a beautiful scissor kick.

DANNY COWLEY: Lincoln City’s manager knew it had not been pretty but another victory — 1-0 at home to Crewe — extended their lead at the top of the table to four points. ‘If you can’t aesthetically please the supporters then it’s important to at least be efficient,’ he said. ‘[I am] pleased to win but I don’t think we played to the standards that we expect of ourselves.’
