Brexit cafe creme

-

I HAVE just returned from a twoweek solo motoring holiday in France. being on my own, I spent many hours in bars and cafes chatting to ordinary, working French people — farm workers, labourers and even the occasional slightly inebriated barfly.

The subject of brexit came up frequently, and it was usually broached by them rather than me.

In 99 per cent of cases, my companions were of one opinion: that the eu was created for the benefit of the politicians and not for the people.

They all agreed that the brussels, Paris, london and berlin elites were worried about brexit because many could see their jobs disappearing.

They feared britain’s exit would start a domino effect in countries such as Italy and denmark, which are making noises about leaving.

I originally voted in favour of the eeC, but I want us out of the eu.
