FAST MOVER The Flash, 8pm, Sky One SEASON five of this U.S. superhero drama brings a big change for the fastest man on the planet — a daughter. Nora is from the future, and speedster Barry is worried that she’ll ‘Marty McFly herself out of existence’. That’s not all there is to worry about, though, because Nora isn’t being completely honest . . . LOVABLE GEEKS The Big Bang Theory, 8.30pm, E4 AT THE start of the snappy final season, Amy and Sheldon are on their honeymoon, and Sheldon has created a schedule for absolutely everything — even ‘making socially sanctioned love’. Does Amy find this sweet? Not quite. FREEVIEW THRILLER Nerve, 9pm, Film4 EMMA ROBERTS and Dave Franco star in this techno-thriller based around an online onlin game where ‘ players’ accept dares from ‘watchers’ to win cash — and which spirals from addictive to t dangerous. Dodging any serious commentary on the perils of social media, etc, this is entertainm­ent entertain played for frantic, high-energy thrills. LIVELY NEW SITCOM Happy Together, 9pm, E4 IN A cute and perky new U.S. sitcom, a young Aussie pop star breaks up with his girlfriend and moves in with his accountant (Damon Wayans Jr) and his wife, who live a sedate suburban existence. All that changes once Cooper James is in their midst, of course. The last season of New Girl follows straight after. TOP ENTERTAINE­R Sammy Davis Jr — I’ve Gotta Be Me, 9.05pm, PBS America THIS rich new profile explores the tightrope Sammy Davis Jr had to walk as a black man in public life. Davis was looking for opportunit­ies to advance civil rights, but had to be careful not to look like he was selling out in the process, as he was seen to be by hugging Richard Nixon. COMEDY DRAMA Women On The Verge, 10pm, W LAURA (Kerry Condon) has a single session with her therapist (Sharon Horgan) and then pronounces herself cured, before spending the rest of the second episode of this witty Dublin comedy going steadily off the rails. Don’t miss the impressive view out of her therapist’s window. CUTTING-EDGE SHOW Forged With Steele, 10pm, History ALEC STEELE (pictured) is an upbeat Norfolk blacksmith with a fair-sized following on YouTube, and his new TV series has a similarly pacey rhythm to his internet videos. In episode one, he’s making a hunga-munga, a vicious-looking African throwing knife with four blades. GRITTY FILM I Am Gangster, 10.20pm, Sky Premiere SOCIAL drama following three young Latino men living in LA. One is a cop, one is a gang member, the other is a bullied high-schooler. Their struggles in modern America unite them.
