Judges save cha-cha cheat Seann from Strictly chop

- By Susie Coen TV and Radio Reporter

THE public voted to save him last week – despite him just having been pictured cheating on his girlfriend with his dance partner.

And last night it was the Strictly Come Dancing judges’ turn to come to the aid of Seann Walsh and his partner Katya Jones as they chose to keep him in the competition instead of Vick Hope.

Craig Revel Horwood chose to save DJ Miss Hope after her cha-cha-cha landed her and Graziano Di Prima in the bottom two.

Yet Dame Darcey Bussell, Alfonso Ribeiro – covering for Bruno Tonioli – and Shirley Ballas opted to keep Walsh, 32, in the BBC One show.

The comedian and married Katya Jones, who were caught in an intimate embrace earlier this month, performed another of the show’s least romantic dances on Saturday – the quickstep.

And in what appears to have been an attempt to keep the routine as palatable as possible, the duo started the dance with a guitar separating them.

Mrs Jones, 2 , who normally slips into racy outfits with plunging necklines for the show, wore a demure highneck polka dot dress.

The pair, who apologised for the tryst on TV last Wednesday, were saved following the dance-off by Miss Ballas because she said it was the performance she ‘enjoyed the most’.

Viewers vented their frustration on social media as the result of the danceoff emerged.

One fan wrote on Twitter: ‘No #Strictly that’s the wrong pair!’ Another added: ‘Pretty obvious the producers kept Seann in because of the drama.’

It comes after claims Walsh’s co-stars are ignoring his messages in a group they created on messaging service WhatsApp. A source told the Sun on Sunday: ‘Everyone wishes that he could be taken off it.’
