HOW appalling that radical preacher Anjem Choudary has been released from jail and is to be given protection at the cost of £2 million a year.

This man has done nothing but cause trouble and lives off taxpayers, whom he hates, thanks to the weakness of this country.

What protection was given to PC Keith Palmer, who was knifed to death trying to protect Parliament? A whistle and a truncheon.

His widow will never see £2 million for the loss of her decent and brave husband. Terrorists and those who radicalise others to commit terrorist acts should be jailed for life.

DEBBIE WATSON, Sheringham, Norfolk. ONE of the terms of Choudary’s release from prison on licence is that he does not travel abroad. Surely, it would be in our interest to encourage him to go abroad, then ban him from returning.

PETE WILLIAMS, Hayes, Middx. ANJEM CHOUDARY has been released from prison and his every move will be monitored at vast expense to the taxpayer.

The authorities will know where he is, but will the victims of his hate preaching, and their families, be informed of his movements or will they be left in the dark?

Last year, our bungalow in a quiet, pretty village was broken into while my husband and I were asleep. The two perpetrators stole a few random items and our car, which they abandoned in a field.

They were later arrested for a similar break- in and one was sentenced to 18 months in prison. By now, he will be out on the streets again, but we, the innocent victims, are left to worry.

We live our lives differently now, with every door and window locked, even in the hottest weather.

Until the victims of crime are given the same kid-gloved treatment as the criminals and our human rights are respected, Britain will be an increasingly lawless country.
