I WAS sitting in the garden with my grandson Ross, then three, when he suddenly said: ‘I love you, Grandad.’ I jokingly replied: ‘I’m glad of that because nobody else does.’ Ross looked at me and muttered: ‘Mmm, I know.’ The nearby kitchen door was open and I heard my wife Janet having a crafty chuckle.
