The perils of plastic

THIS paper has long highlighted the dangers to wildlife and the environment posed by single-use supermarket bags, bottles, packaging and other plastic waste.

But if any still need convincing we should cut down radically on such pollutants, they should study the Mail’s revelations about plastic’s toxic effects on human beings.

For the health of our children and grandchildren, this is yet another powerful reason to think twice before shopping without a reusable bag – or buying water in a plastic bottle.
