Helen Mirren says she’s not so snooty about her acting roles and will accept more downmarket parts — such as playing a scary ginger-haired hag tyrant (right) in new Disney film The Nutcracker And The Four Realms. ‘I was very snobby about it when I was young,’ she confesses. ‘I didn’t even want to be a movie star — I wanted to be a “great theatre actress”. ‘These days — well, one of the great things about getting older is that all the unnecessary things like being snobbish drop away and you just get more practical about work.’ A role in Coronation Street surely beckons.
