IT IS terrifying how angry people are online. In WHY ARE WE SO ANGRY? (RADIO 4,

9.30AM) Oliver Burkeman, an advice guru, finds out how media outlets actually spread anger, and how this anger spills over into our everyday behaviour. He also discovers a disturbing fact — outrage sells.

TOM WALKER (pictured), the singer-songwriter who had a big hit with his heartfelt song Leave A Light On — about reaching out to a friend in need — has a new single out. Called Angels, it’s going to be another big hit. He will perform the song on today’s drivetime show for JO WHILEY & SIMON MAYO (RADIO 2, 5PM), and throw in another song or two for good measure.

SO MUCH of the modern world is a profound mystery to many of us. In

the new, four-part series, DAVID BADDIEL TRIES TO UNDERSTAND

(RADIO 4, 8.45PM), the comedian, who confesses to his ignorance on a number of subjects, tries to provide some explanations. In this first programme, David tackles something that we encounter every day and are totally reliant on for communication, yet is only vaguely understood by the majority of us — wifi. He sets off to London to attend a wifi installation and then meets a professor of wireless communication who explains how this modern technology works.
