PLAYER RATINGS

- By JOE BERNSTEIN AT OLD TRAFFORD SUBSTITUTES None Not used: Romero, Bailly, Andreas Pereira, Fred, Ander Herrera, Darmian, Chong. SUBSTITUTES Bernardeschi (for Dybala 78) Barzagli (for Cuadrado 81) Costa (for Cancelo 84) Not used: Perin, De Sciglio, Bena

DAVID DE GEA 7 Blameless for Dybala’s goal, made good saves later from Cancelo, Ronaldo and Matuidi. ASHLEY YOUNG 6.5 Handled the task of marking Ronaldo by kicking him whenever he was beaten. CHRIS SMALLING 6 Couldn’t clear cross from Ronaldo at the near post which gave Dybala chance to score. VICTOR LINDELOF 5.5 Got a rocket from Matic for struggling to track Dybala. Nowhere near him for his goal. LUKE SHAW 5.5 Caught out by Ronaldo’s pace and movement when he switched to the right. NEMANJA MATIC 5.5 Failed to give protection to the defence, though he’d also point the finger at Pogba for that. PAUL POGBA 5.5 Three thousand Juve fans won’t have recognised former hero but he did hit the post late on. MARCUS RASHFORD 5.5 His dribbling skills were United’s best outlet but looked a boy in a man’s game at other times. JUAN MATA 5 Spaniard saw little of the ball and was unable to repeat influence he had in the draw at Chelsea. ANTHONY MARTIAL 5.5 Spent too long tracking back and deflected Ronaldo’s cross for goal. More positive later on. ROMELU LUKAKU 5 Goals have dried up for big Belgian who hasn’t scored at home this season. Final ball poor. JOSE MOURINHO 5 Setting out his stall no longer seems to work for the Special One because his United side can’t break habit of falling behind. WOJCIECH SZCZESNY 6 Difficult to judge former Arsenal goalkeeper as he hardly had a save to make. JOAO CANCELO 7 Right back was always a useful attacking outlet and denied by De Gea in first half. LEONARDO BONUCCI 7 Tough guy who lived up to his billing by kicking the unfortunate Lindelof in the head. GIORGIO CHIELLINI 7 The 34-year-old was recalled for this game and was Juve’s leader at the back. Still a force. ALEX SANDRO 6.5 Looked uncomfortable when Rashford ran at him but United couldn’t exploit him further. RODRIGO BETANCUR 6.5 Uruguay midfielder impressed at the World Cup and is continuing his fine form. MIRALEM PJANIC 7 Glides over the pitch and a constant menace to United’s midfield with his movement. BLAISE MATUIDI 6 A better finisher might have put away chance when De Gea parried Ronaldo’s free-kick. JUAN CUADRADO 8 Chelsea flop showed pace and intelligence. His near-post run made space for Dybala’s goal. PAULO DYBALA 7.5 Marked his 150th Juve game with an excellent finish having missed an earlier header. CRISTIANO RONALDO 7.5 Made an impact at his old ground. Helped set up Dybala’s goal and could have scored. MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI 7 Instead of coming and playing for a draw at Old Trafford, Allegri set up his team to create danger and they looked slick throughout. REFEREE MILORAD MAZIC (SERBIA) 7 Three bookings in a feisty game is credit to him. Treated players as adults. ATTENDANCE 73,946
