No to a second poll

-

A POLL commissioned by Channel 4, that Left-wing haven for remoaners, claims that in a second referendum 54 per cent would choose to stay in the EU (Mail).

Poppycock! remember, pollsters in 2016 forecast an overwhelming majority for the remain camp. They were hopelessly wrong then and they’re just as wrong now.

Besides, there’s no question of staying in the EU because a democratic majority has already voted to quit in March 2019.

If any new referendum was needed, it should be about David Cameron’s stupid idea of giving away £11 billion of our money in overseas aid.

MAURICE BLIGH, Sittingbourne, Kent. THE poll was biased in favour of remain because it was online only. Many older, pro-Brexit voters don’t use computers unlike young voters, who are inevitably pro-remain.

J. LONG, Cheltenham, Glos. Surely all those organisations calling for a second referendum in the hope of overturning the result are not so naive as to expect the EU to take us back just like that.

Brussels will want its pound of flesh, as has been shown during the Brexit negotiations.

Some of those calling for a new referendum are our supposed captains of industry. They have had two years to prepare for a no Deal, but instead have been sitting on their hands.

E. VICK, Fareham, Hants.
